From 1996 – 2004, Santiza International, through its partners, one of whom is its Chief Executive Officer, was involved in the private venture financing of East African Safari Air, which in 2004, was dubbed the fastest growing airline on the continent.
In 2005, it was again similarly involved in the private venture financing of iron ore extraction at Wanjala Mining in Taita, which saw the extraction of up to 40,000 metric tons of product, in that year.
Santiza International has been engaged, officially since 2006, in the Isiolo Project on commission from the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a stakeholder member of the Isiolo Resort City Task Force formed in 2006 by the Government of Kenya, to conduct a study and conceptualize the project idea.
We have engaged the government, to establish external budgetary support through financing from international private and sovereign investment resources. Santiza International has contracted a Swiss licensed Guaranteed Fund Specialist, with the capability to leverage finance capital, by way of a private placement, as working capital for our initial project profiling pre-implementation requirements, We have also engaged the collaboration of a strategic technology intermediary, Hono Anton Inc., of the Republic of Korea
With a combination of these two strengths, i.e. knowledge transfer, and regional trading infrastructure development, this Kenya - Korea private sector collaboration, intertwined with the idea of empathetic design and supported by an upwardly mobile Domestic Direct Investment process, will result in Kenya experiencing premier technological advances, that fit and suit the particular needs and issues of the region.
Empathetic design will involve basically understanding innovations from the local communities’ point of view, so that material progress and growth, is devoid of relational depravity, is inclusive and participatory; therefore incorporating the diverse hopes and aspirations of the local communities’ in the innovations’ design, success and practicality
The financing prowess of Santiza International is attributed to the early (1998-1999) understanding of the state of the fundamentals in the global economy, that gave rise to the global financial crisis. With this came recognition of the cumulative shift in the times, from democratization of politics to the democratization of finances, in which the community - as represented by horizontal organizations, such as Chambers of Commerce, become the driving force of bottom – up economic progress, and the defining entity of the globalization era. Trading activities now unite everyone, bringing together people with knowledge and information in virtual companies. These electronic trading activities are now swinging to reshape the world in fundamental ways, and have become an irresistible force for economic growth today. We now live in a world dominated by private international capital movement, and the scale of these capital movements is massive.
This Global integration has raced ahead of most governments, with huge amounts of private and sovereign wealth capital moving around the world, exploiting buying and selling opportunities anywhere, with virtually zero transaction and transmission costs, and at virtually instantaneous speeds. Traditional leadership in the public sector needs to understand and adjust to this new ideology, and think globally first, and then locally. This presents a vibrant opportunity to proactively, institutionally and administratively engage, in this common global defining, of both commerce and communication.
